Had a great evening out to see Tracey’s school choir and the Driffield Male voice choir in Cottingham and decided to go out to an Indian restaurant in our local town and I’ve got to say the customer service was amongst the worst I’ve ever experienced.
I like staff to be attentive to my/our needs, be courteous, polite and to smile. This wasn’t a busy evening, with just 2 tables. It has covers for between 50 & 75 I guess, so with 8 or 9 people you’d have thought that customer service would be decent!
This evening the staff seemed miserable and had a couldn’t be bothered attitude, no wonder the place is empty, I certainly won’t be visiting again.
This just goes to show that good customer service is paramount in all areas of business. Ensure that every now and again you ask your customers if everything is okay and whether you can help them with anything else. You never know you may even get an upturn in your business.
UPDATE: Tracey, my wife visited this venue again the following Wednesday for one of her friends birthday outings and she said the service was as bad, if not worse than it was on Saturday.

Hi John,i know the restaurant your talking about,i think, its the only indian in hessle,we,ve been there twice.and both times we had the same quality of service, gave it a second chance, thinking the staff were just having an off night, but second time round was all too the same,WONT BE GOING BACK.anyway i hear your not a bad cook your self, have you any nice recipes to try,as im quite into cooking myself.
Thanks for the reply. Keep reading every now and again as I will be adding the odd recipe. In fact if you’re on Facebook you can add POPex as a fan page and you can find out when I update the blog.
